Volvo Starts Green Concept

Go green has been the tendency of most companies today. Google ha ido ahead and replaced their roofs and walls with solar panels to save energy and help reduce the amount of dangerous gases in the atmosphere. And Volvo has joined the craze.
Volvo has joined green and jumped on the train. What it does is that it has already created, manufactured and shipped in new vehicle models that can be used using alternative fuels that are not harmful to the environment. The brand has been able to create a reality not only the quality of Volvo V70 pieces for the market, but has also created a green and environmentally friendly vehicles. In fact, at present Volvo has nine vehicle models and three of these nine vehicles are already available as bio-ethanol powered vehicles. These three vehicles are the Volvo C30, S40, V50 and. All these three are marketed in Europe and use engines with four cylinders.
Magnus Jonsson is the senior vice president of Volvo Cars & 39; research and development team. For this, he said, " Flexifuel we believe has great potential for larger engine sizes and we are thinking of expanding our range of bio-ethanol engines power in the coming years ".
However, this is not green when the madness ends. You see, Volvo has also created a new concept vehicle and what they call the Volvo XC60 concept vehicle. This concept is used to power a car that has the same six-cylinder engine that the use of bio-fuel vehicles of the mark. This engine is actually a line in gasoline engine that was already used by the Volvo S80 ago when he left in 2006. This very engine has the ability to really give power to the concept car, even if you put in E85, which is actually the term used for fuel that is composed of 85 percent bio-ethanol and 15 percent gasoline.
Combining the power of E85 and the engine can then work up the Volvo XC60 concept car so much that can vroom up to 265 horsepower and some 251 pounds feet of torque. In fact, Volvo states that have been able to register the vehicle to zoom in from zero to sixty seconds in 8.2 seconds.

Volvo& 8217;s Milestone Towards Profitability

Aside from redefining its luxury SUV segment, Volvo released its recent pride called XC90 to etch a milestone that is anticipated to create a remarkable boost in the sales and profitability aspects of the automaker in the coming years.

& 8220;The XC90 will boost our sales. It will take us close to 500,000 units per year. A milestone on our daring journey towards the 600,000 mark,& 8221; says Hans-Olov Olsson, President and CEO of Volvo Cars. & 8220;The new XC90 is also redefining the luxury SUV segment. It is the first in the next generation of SUVs. It offers a unique package, unmatched by any of our competitors,& 8221; Olsson added.

According to Dan Werbin, President and CEO of Volvo Cars North America, & 8220;We are aiming for 200,000 cars per year in North America by 2005. Thus far, we have been growing in the right direction. However, we really need a SUV to close the gap to 200,000 and that role will be played by the Volvo XC90.& 8221;

& 8220;We have a golden opportunity in Europe. The segment is growing and we are entering the market with a highly distinctive product & 8211; an offer that few others can match,& 8221; Olsson noted in connection with Volvo& 8217;s growth in European SUV segment.

Volvo XC90 is also expected to attract customers who previously rejected Volvo cars because of its added SUV driving excitement. Said SUV experience is made possible by the state-of-the-art Volvo parts XC90 that emphasize performance, safety and style. Said car is also designed to conquer Asian upgraders at the same time to augment Europe& 8217;s growing segment. In the latter& 8217;s territory SUVs are mainstream. Nonetheless, acceptance of Volvo XC90 is very much apparent.

& 8220;The new XC90 enters this segment with great confidence. Recent clinics show that customers see an SUV as a natural progression for Volvo. It also complements the Cross Country perfectly. They are different vehicles with different buyers in mind, so they won& 8217;t compete over the same customers,& 8221; says Dan Werbin.
